War Museum of Athens: New Administrative Board appointed by Defence Minister

New Administrative Board appointed at the War Museum of Athens by Defence Minister Nikos Dendias

That announced by Greek Ministry of National Defence on March 14, 2024.

By decision of the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, the following are appointed members of the Administrative Board of the War Museum of Athens, for a three-year tenure:

a. Karamessinis Konstantinos, Lieutenant General (AF) (ret.), as Chairmanb. D
b. Diakopoulos Alexandros, Vice Admiral (ret.) – Honorary Commander of the National Defence College as A’ Vice Chairman
c. Tzounakos Ioannis, Lieutenant General (ret.) as B’ Vice Chairman
d. Mytilinaios Evaggelos, Donor, as Member
e. Tsamaz Michail, distinguished scientist (Business Management), as Member
f. Aggelakos Evaggelos, Donor, as Member
g. Velentzas Konstantinos, distinguished scientist (Electrical Engineer), as Member
h. Potamitis Efstathios, distinguished scientist (Lawyer), as Member
i. Laskaridis Panagiotis, Rear Admiral (ret.) – Donor, as Member

The aim of the new Administrative Board is the upgrade of the War Museums, through the reorganisation and modernisation of their modus operandi, and the upgrade of their infrastructure.

Also, the connection with the society and outward-looking orientated activities, cooperating with foreign Museums with a respective scope (such as the London Imperial War Museum), the conduct of Conferences, and other actions.

The goals of the War Museums and the changes in their modus operandi will be extensively presented in the near future by the political leadership of the Ministry of National Defence.
