An American man was found dead on Thursday March 13, 2025 afternoon in a short-term rental apartment in central Athens.
According to reports, the man was discovered around 3 PM by the 52-year-old owner of the apartment on the second floor of a building on Kolokynthous Street near Omonoia, who had arrived to clean the space.
The victim was found tied to the bed, with a bag over his head. A gas cylinder was found next to his body, connected to the bag via a supply tube.
Greek Police sources have stated that the case is being treated as a possible suicide. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the man’s death.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the victim’s identity or the duration of his stay in Greece. An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
