The Chief of Greek Police met with officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD).
A significant meeting took place on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Hellenic Police Headquarters, where the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, welcomed a delegation from the New York City Police Department (NYPD), accompanied by an official from the U.S. Embassy.
The meeting was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, focusing on key topics such as enhancing public safety, exchanging know-how and best practices, and improving citizen services. Special attention was also given to training and professional development of police personnel.
Adding a deeply emotional and symbolic dimension to the visit was the fact that the majority of NYPD Officers in the delegation are of Greek descent, highlighting the strong ties between the Greek diaspora and their homeland.
Chief Mallios warmly thanked the NYPD Officers for their visit and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation channels with international law enforcement agencies, especially in today’s ever-evolving global security environment.
