Strengthening bilateral cooperation in Defense, Security, and Cyber Defense – Procurement of firefighting aircraft through the “AEGIS” program on the table.
Deputy Minister of Defense, Thanasis Davakis, met with the Ambassador of Canada to Greece, Anna-Karine Asselin, at the Ministry of National Defense (MοD).
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of acquiring new Canadair firefighting aircraft through the Greek procurement program AEGIS, a project of pivotal importance for disaster response and the enhancement of the country’s civil protection.
At the same time, the prospects for deepening cooperation in the fields of Defense, Security, Cyber Defense, and defense equipment and infrastructure programs were thoroughly explored.
Deputy Minister Davakis emphasized that the shared commitment of Greece and Canada to peace, security, stability, and NATO principles forms the foundation for developing new initiatives of mutual interest.
