Greece has approved the purchase of 35 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.

Yesterday, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the Deputy Minister of Defense Yiannis Kefalogiannis informed the Special Standing Committee on Equipment Programs and Contracts of the Hellenice Parliament, and Committee approved the activation of the procurement program of 35 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.

According LOA, the Greek Government requested to purchase:

  • 35 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters
  • 80 T700-GE 701D engines (70 installed, 10 spares)
  • 44 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS) (35 installed, 9 spares)
  • 85 H-764U Inertial Navigation Global Positioning Systems (EGI) and Single Country Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Unit (SAASM) (or future replacement) (70 installed, 15 spares)
  • 85 AN/ARC-231A VHF/UHF/LOS SATCOM systems.
  • electronic systems and equipment for helicopters, weapons, ammunition and more.

UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters are expected in Greece in 2027.
