The Hellenic Air Force participated in the multinational exercise “Modules Field Exercise” held at Alghero Fertilia Airport in Sardinia, Italy.
The Hellenic Air Force contributed with a team consisting of two CL-415 aircraft and corresponding personnel from the 383 Special Operations and Aerial Firefighting Squadron (383 SOAFS), from the 113 Combat Wing. Integrated into the European Civil Protection Pool, the Greek team represented our country with professionalism and a high level of readiness.
The exercise, conducted under the auspices of the European Civil Protection Mechanism (ECPM), aimed to:
- Test and evaluate the operational readiness of national Modules (personnel and equipment) for deployment abroad in wildfire response missions.
- Enhance interoperability and communication among participating countries and civil protection agencies in responding to man-made and natural disasters.
- Apply and deepen the practical understanding of the standardized operational procedures established by the ECPM.

The exercise in Sardinia (April 7–11, 2025) also included forces from Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Through its participation in such international activities, the Hellenic Air Force once again affirms its pivotal role in promoting international cooperation and strengthening civil protection at the European level.
